In my opinion yakima makes excellent relatively affordable c w other similar brands rooftop cargo boxes. We are unable to ship cargo boxes and rooftop tents to hawaii or alaska. In the market thule and yakima are one of the best manufacturers of cargo boxes. This rock solid box is another one of our absolute favorites and we would highly recommend it.

Orders with cargo boxes and rooftop tents must ship via a truck carrier and cannot be expedited. It has a much squatter design than normal meaning that much of the space is generated by the width of the box rather than the length. So if you have a smaller roof area this box can be installed without overhanging the windshield or stopping the trunk being fully opened. Easy to install fairly easy convienent to use.

However if you are to choose between the two brands there are differences to pin down. Unlike the thule roof racks that are quite heavy yakima is lightweight and also boost a wide surface. Thanks to their design yakima roof racks are used on the hidden rails you see on a modern and smaller car. They are best known for their premium quality products and excellent aftersales customer service.

Also the amount of packing space is limited due to the shape of the box.
